About AMIkids Infinity Marlboro
Founded in 2005, AMIkids Infinity Marlboro is a private non-profit, staff-secure alternative education school in Bennettsville, South Carolina. Our alternative school works in collaboration with local school districts, emphasizing the improvement of student citizenship and increasing academic functioning levels. Referred youth receive alternative education because they are unable to perform within the public school system, have displayed disruptive behavior, are facing expulsion or have learning disabilities or emotional handicaps.

We are currently seeking a Teacher, Certified Social Studies
Position Summary
The role of the Certified Teacher is to provide an effective learning environment to motivate and guide students toward the successful accomplishment of established educational goals and objectives. Primary objective is the realization of AMIkids' mission to provide a safe and successful learning environment for troubled youth, while encouraging social and emotional development through the achievement of academic and personal goals.
Essential Job Duties
Assess and evaluate academic needs of a diverse population of students,
Provide instruction as appropriate to the specified course or discipline and academic level,
Adhere to recognized curriculum standards and compliance with the instructional guidelines,
Perform all work as outlined in the educational component of the Personal Growth Model (PGM),
Course delivery, administration of tests (or equivalent course criteria),
Tabulation and submission of students' final course grades,
Research, select, prepare, and maintain appropriate educational development plans, materials, equipment, and resources for each student,
Serve as academic advisor and positive role model for assigned students,
Manage documentation of student records; assist in the preparation for placement of graduating advisees,
Identify and determine appropriate course of action necessary for the resolution of students' academic or behavioral issues and concerns,
Perform home visits as dictated by program standards and/or state contract as needed.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Education, the academic discipline being delivered, or related field,
Supplemented by a demonstrated aptitude for working with at risk and troubled youth,
Or any combination of education, training and experience equal to or greater than defined regulatory requirements,
Must possess and maintain current Teaching Certification, and all necessary academic certifications; NCLB highly qualified designation preferred for the discipline being delivered,
Must satisfy criminal background check and drug screening as defined by state requirements,
Must satisfy physical abilities and medical testing as defined by federal regulations,
May be required to obtain and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state requirements,
Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid Certification by nationally recognized organization.
Must possess and maintain valid driver's license in the state of employment and have a driving record that meets the standards of the AMIkids Transportation Policy; may be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and school bus endorsement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
